Simeon Lang, COO/ Director of Athletic Performance
A lifelong love of athletics and a passion for training that took root in high school lead me into my current career as a personal trainer and strength coach. I grew up in Jefferson, IA and graduated from JSHS in 2004. My studies continued in Pella, IA where I earned a BA degree in Exercise Science: Health Promotion from Central College in 2008. I received my personal training certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in the fall of 2008. My passion for health, fitness and performance has been ongoing ever since, staying up to date with current research and practices in all things strength. Two continuing education projects of mine currently include the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification as well as the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist accreditation through the NSCA.
Athletically, I stayed involved with many sports throughout childhood. Upon graduating from Jefferson-Scranton I had received 14 varsity letters in football, basketball, track & field, and baseball. I had the great opportunity to continue my basketball career at Central College, playing four years for the Dutch. My active lifestyle hasn’t slowed down, as I stay involved in weight training, Crossfit, triathlons, Tough Mudder racing, basketball, racquetball, and other fun activities as they arise.
I firmly believe our bodies are capable of amazing things and we should all tap into the possibilities they afford us. Making our health and fitness a priority in life spills over into everything we do, and a strong body, mind and spirit enhances it all.
